Customers say

Customers like the quality, weight and comfort of the coat. For example, they mention it’s a very nice dress coat, it’ll keep you warm and it’d be a blast to wear. That said some are disappointed with warmth. Opinions are mixed on fit and button.

Title: I LOVE THIS COAT!!!!!!
Review: I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered two sizes up. I usually wear a large and ordered an XXL (which is a US 14). It’s perfect. I am 5.1″, 150 lbs, a 36C with about a 32″ waist & 40″ hips. I usually wear a US10/12.As I live in the NE where it gets COLD, I wanted it to be be big enough to wear a regular sweater and a light fleece jacket underneath it for winter wear, and I can do that without it being overly tight (it is a little snug with all the extra, but it’s not too bad. I won’t be splitting any seams.) If I don’t wear the extra fleece jacket, I can easily cinch up the back to take up the extra space so the coat doesn’t look too big for me. So, I can get three seasons out of this coat. The sleeves are a little long, but at 5′ 1″ I have short arms. The sleeves are a bit “bell-like” with slits, so it looks fine anyway. My coat arrived pretty wrinkled up, but a quick once-over with an iron easily took care of that. The material is lovely- a pretty, silky brocade. I did reinforce the buttons as they are shank buttons, and a close inspection showed that they would likely cut through the existing thread fairly quickly. That took a quick 10 minutes with a needle & some heavy-duty thread to remedy. No big deal there. I do that on most of clothes with shank buttons. The coat came with a couple of extra buttons, too. This coat is also machine washable, which is a plus. However, because the outer brocade material is fine and silky (think satin scarf-like), it will be prone to snags & fraying, so I would strongly recommend washing it on the delicate cycle, inside out and buttoned-up to protect the material. I would also wash it separately and in a large mesh bag to protect the material.Update: 02Feb2016The coat is still in great shape, looks brand new. I wear it often, and strangers of all kinds frequently stop me to ask where I got it. It’s by far my favorite. I’ve lost about 15 lbs, and even though I bought the coat larger to get 3 seasons out of it, I can still tighten it enough so it look just fine. I washed it and line dried it (my personal preference) and it washed beautifully. I’m so glad I bought it. No regrets at all!

Title: Beautiful sorcerer goth coat.
Review: It’s a slightly tight even for a large (I am a medium; sizes 6/8 and this large is slightly too tight). I guess size large is small for us Cuban gals, while it is huge for Asians. Anyways it’s not too overly tight, just two inches of weight loss, which is why I brought it, and it should fit just right. Looks amazing and I love the material. As what other reviewers had stated, the sleeves are way too long for the size of the coat. I am not bothered by it. I think it gives it that sorcerers’ appeal to the look. However, when I go to work I do a quick sew to shorten the sleeve ends, using a sewing technique that doesn’t show the thread, so that when I want the sorcerers’ look again I just unthread the seams I created and waa-laa flapping kimono sleeves. 🙂 The quick sewing technique is just under 3 minutes, so sewing softly, but fast wouldn’t harm the fabric. I also think the long sleeves may be due to the fact that the coat is worn loose due to the shoulder area being too tight, which elongate the sleeves further. If the coat fitted right at the shoulders the sleeve would pull upright as they should and be at the proper length. The material/fabric feels very durable. Well worth the price. I’ve seen this same coat on ebay for over hundred bucks. The contrast of satin and other materials gives it an Asian appeal to it too. Very lovely and flattering for us gals who want to exaggerate our curvy waistline.

Title: Beautiful. Well done! Bravo!
Review: This coat is very beautifully cut, sewn and fully lined. Nice details, great fabric and buttons. The brocade pattern is subtle. This looks sophisticated, not shiny. I see that a lot of you bought it for Cosplay, but I plan to wear it all the time. It will look great at the office. Every day is theater as far as I am concerned.Okay, just so we can get the sizing issue out of the way, these are NOT U.S. sizes — I ordered the 3X and the label says US size 16, UK 20, EU 48.I usually take a 16, and this fits me like a glove! Which is to say, I can’t wear multiple layers underneath, like a blouse plus corset/bustier. On the other hand, I am losing weight. And I can enjoy this coat right NOW by simply loosening the laces. Genius! If you want a drapey, loose coat, you will need to order three sizes up. If you are a size 16, order the 4x, if it’s available. The laces are very, very long, so there is a lot of slack. If you loosen them while the coat is on a hanger, they will look very loose and hang down. But as soon as you put it on, they will tighten up, so don’t be afraid to be generous with the amount of slack you need.UPDATE May 6: I wore this coat to work yesterday, and a male colleague said, “your coat is amazing!”

Title: Great coat.
Review: This is really a gorgeous coat. I love it. As far as sizing, it runs quite small so order UP. I’m 5’7″ and 124 lbs. (on the slender side) and an XL fits me perfectly. According to the tag, it’s a USA 12. I normally wear an 8. The only reason the coat fits me as expected is because I read the other reviews about how small it runs and adjusted accordingly. The ties in the back can be very helpful in adjusting the fit.Regardless of the reviews that state the coat is extremely lightweight – I think it’s really a decent weight. The fabric is not thin. It has some body to it and the coat is fully lined. I was pleasantly surprised by the weight when I took it out of the package because I didn’t expect it to be as heavy as it is.The only things that were a bit of a turn off are – it was very wrinkled and there is no care tag attached. I ironed it on the right side using the cotton setting with steam and it turned out great. I had to take a chance on the setting as I couldn’t wear it the way it was. It really should have a care tag.Overall – I adore this coat and will wear it often. It’s extremely attractive.
